Soccer Game Preview: Cardinal Gibbons vs. Coral Glades

The Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs will take on the Coral Glades Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Coral Glades is facing Cardinal Gibbons at the wrong time: Cardinal Gibbons suffered their first home loss of the season on Thursday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 2-1. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Chiefs couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Abigail Gillette, who's now up to nine this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Coral Glades took on Coral Springs Charter on Thursday. Coral Glades fell 2-0 to Coral Springs Charter. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Panthers are ranked 65th).

Cardinal Gibbons' loss dropped their record down to 7-5-2. As for Coral Glades, they now have a losing record at 5-6-3.

Cardinal Gibbons beat Coral Glades 3-1 in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Will Cardinal Gibbons repeat their success, or does Coral Glades have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
