Softball Game Preview: Grove City Eagles vs. Franklin Knights

Grove City is 1-9 against Franklin since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Eagles will square off against the Knights at 10:00 a.m. Grove City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Grove City came up short against Hickory and fell 8-5.

Grove City saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Thompson, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Meanwhile, Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Sharon, falling 15-0.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 5-5. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Grove City took their victory against Franklin when the teams last played on April 4th by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
