Basketball Recap: New Franklin Sets Scoring Season-High Against Fayette

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Franklin). Everything went their way against the Fayette Falcons on Tuesday as the New Franklin Bulldogs made off with a 69-47 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 61-33 last Thursday.

Fayette's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Colten Cross, who posted 12 points along with five boards and four steals, and Blake Braden, who had 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. What's more, Cross also racked up two assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Kaleb Friebe was another key player, putting up five points.

New Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Fayette, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Franklin will square off against Madison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. New Franklin is facing Madison at the right time seeing as Madison is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Fayette will take on Westran in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on December 17th at.
