Baseball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty was the 8-4 winner over Poinciana when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Liberty Chargers fell 10-7 to the Poinciana Eagles on Thursday.

Liberty saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jomar Rivera-Soto, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Even though they lost, Liberty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Poinciana, they moved to 1-2 with that victory, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.

Liberty didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-7 loss against Gateway on the 4th. As for Poinciana, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 4-3 defeat against Celebration on the 3rd.
