Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Joseph Murguia and Colin Goss Lead Escondido Charter to Victory

Escondido Charter entered their tilt with Coastal Academy on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Stingrays by a score of 3-1. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Stingrays walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.

The victory didn't come easy: Coastal Academy scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 20-25, 26-24, 25-20.

Leading Escondido Charter to victory were Colin Goss and Joseph Murguia. Goss had 16 assists and two aces, while Murguia had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Goss has posted since back in April of 2024.

Escondido Charter's record is now 15-6. As for Coastal Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Escondido Charter will face off against rival Maranatha Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Coastal Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Orange Glen at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
