Soccer Game Preview: Aurora East vs. Romeoville

The Aurora East Tomcats will head out on the road to challenge the Romeoville Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Aurora East fell victim to Riverside-Brookfield and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. Aurora East have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Romeoville was not quite Joliet West's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 1-0. Romeoville fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Joliet West since Tuesday.

Aurora East's loss dropped their record down to 5-11-5. As for Romeoville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.

Aurora East beat Romeoville by a goal when the teams last played back in September of 2021, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tomcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
