Basketball Recap: Shadyside Takes a Loss

Shadyside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 53-31 to the Barnesville Shamrocks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-35 back in December of 2024.

Barnesville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lydia Fuchs, who went 6 of 11 en route to 12 points. The dominant performance gave Fuchs a new career-high in points. Aiva Leasure was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Shadyside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Barnesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Shadyside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-29 loss against Shenandoah on the 27th. Barnesville has also already played their next contest, a 44-38 defeat against Bellaire on the 27th.
