Basketball Recap: Martinsville Takes a Loss

If Martinsville was feeling good fresh off their 72-37 takedown of Chrisman last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Martinsville Bluestreaks took a hard 52-38 fall against the Brownstown/St. Elmo Eagles on Tuesday. The Bluestreaks have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Martinsville's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Brownstown/St. Elmo, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.

Martinsville will welcome Marshall at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Martinsville is facing Marshall at the right time seeing as Marshall is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Brownstown/St. Elmo, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Edinburg at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Edinburg will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Brownstown/St. Elmo surely won't give up without a fight.
