Kaedynce Kauth made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off only one hit. Kauth has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings every time she's pitched this season. Kauth was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off three triples, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Salem Academy Charter let Dihanna Vicioso and Kayla Esterlin loose on the outfield. Vicioso went 1-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and an RBI, while Esterlin scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Salem's offense. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 15-0 walloping at the hands of Danvers on Friday. Salem has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
