Basketball Recap: Trinity Skates Past Schurz with Ease

Trinity had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Schurz Bulldogs, posting an 82-22 win. Given the Blazers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 606th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Trinity is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points over those games. As for Schurz, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-16.

Coming up, Trinity will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Francis at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity is facing St. Francis at the right time seeing as St. Francis is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. Schurz does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
