It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Putnam can now relate to. They were dealt a 56-27 loss at the hands of the Western Boone Stars on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Stars: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the loss, North Putnam still got an impressive performance from Christian Kramer, who rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 240 yards and a touchdown. Kramer has been hot , having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last six times he's played.

Western Boone had a senior duo take command as Marcus Fortner gained 115 total yards and two touchdowns and Brandon Potter rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. That's the most rushing yards Potter has posted since back in September.

North Putnam's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Western Boone, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

North Putnam does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Western Boone, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Lafayette Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lafayette Central Catholic will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Western Boone surely won't give up without a fight.
