League recap: Trinity Christian tops Providence to extend winning streak

Trinity Christian extended the longest winning streak in 3A District 2 this week by beating Providence, 36-20. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Conquerors.

Episcopal took down Bishop Snyder 48-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Trinity Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Oshay Carter threw for 179 and two touchdowns and Isaiah Ford had 97 yards receiving. On the ground Carter chipped in 84 yards. Nick Washington helped Trinity Christian's passing attack out by catching three balls for 53 yards.

Trinity Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Conquerors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Carter has thrown for 813 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Ford has 25 catches for 376 yards. Jeffery Holland leads the league in rushing with 482 yards.

The Eagles led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on the Cardinals.
