Baseball Recap: Schulenburg Now 11-1 over Last 12 Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Schulenburg walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Centerville Tigers on Thursday, sneaking past 6-5. That's two games straight that the Shorthorns have won by just one run.

Jayse Janda was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Aaron Janecek, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Schulenburg is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Centerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 26-6-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Tigers beat Schulenburg by a score of 5-0 on Friday.
