Hendersonville extended the longest winning streak in 2A/1A Western Highlands this week by beating Polk County, 28-20. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Bearcats.

Thomas Jefferson Academy's dynamic duo of Mason Martin and Mason Fenner proved tough for Owen to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Martin threw for 41 yards and Fenner had 47 yards receiving.

Desean Jackson was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 233 yards as Hendersonville lost to the Warhorses. Grant Rivers also contributed to the rushing game with 109 yards on the ground.

Thanks to the talents of Rivers and Jackson Bj Laughter's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Rivers leads the league in passing with 1487 yards, while Jackson has rushed for 1804 yards this season. Thomas Jefferson Academy's Efrim Borders leads the league in receiving yards with 756 on 54 catches.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Madison takes on Mountain Heritage. As it stands, the Patriots are in first, while the Cougars are in sixth.

Owen made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,863 from 8,594. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 64-12 victory over Jerry Cash's team last week.
