Basketball Recap: Hamshire-Fannett Takes a Loss

After flying high against Liberty last Friday, Hamshire-Fannett came back down to earth. The Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns fell to the Hargrave Falcons 60-56. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 419th, while the Falcons are ranked 113th).

Hamshire-Fannett's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-13. As for Hargrave, their victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-2.

Hamshire-Fannett will host Livingston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Livingston will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Hamshire-Fannett surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hargrave, they will head out on the road to take on Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hargrave's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
