Softball Recap: Arleta's Losing Streak Snapped at 11 Games

Arleta had to endure an 11-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Poly Parrots on Wednesday as they made off with an 11-1 win. The Mustangs not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 7th (when they won 18-8).

Arleta let ADRIANA VASQUEZ DURAN and EMILY SANDOVAL run wild. VASQUEZ DURAN got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while SANDOVAL went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave SANDOVAL a new career-high. Another player making a difference was JUSTINE MEJIA, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Arleta hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 4-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Arleta's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 10-16. As for Poly, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Arleta wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-2 loss against Legacy on the 21st. As for Poly, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 defeat against Chatsworth on the 21st.
