Baseball Game Preview: Harleton Wildcats vs. Elysian Fields Yellowjackets

For the second straight game, Harleton will face off against Elysian Fields. The Wildcats will head out to square off against the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harleton's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Elysian Fields' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Tuesday, Harleton earned an 8-4 win over Elysian Fields. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

For Elysian Fields' part, John Beavers put in work no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Beavers has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Beavers wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Evan White, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Harleton's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Elysian Fields, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-12 record.
