Archbishop Riordan hasn't had much luck against Junipero Serra recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Crusaders will challenge the Padres at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Archbishop Riordan comes in on nine and Junipero Serra on six.
On Saturday, Archbishop Riordan took their game with ease, bagging a 37-7 victory over Archbishop Mitty. Considering the Crusaders have won seven contests by more than 21 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Michael Mitchell Jr. had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 331 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88.2% of his passes, and also punching in one TD on the ground. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (167.3). Archbishop Riordan also got help from Judge Nash, who showed off his sure hands for 80 receiving yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Archbishop Riordan's defense and their six sacks. Leading the way was Zachary Kleppin with three. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 8.5 sacks on the season.
Meanwhile, Junipero Serra was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Bellarmine College Prep 39-7. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Padres just coasted through the last quarter.
Junipero Serra's win came from a few key players Archbishop Riordan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Iziah Singleton, who rushed for 68 yards and one score on only seven carries. Another player making a difference was Charles Walsh, who picked up 68 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Junipero Serra was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Archbishop Riordan's record now sits at 9-0. As for Junipero Serra, their record is now 6-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Archbishop Riordan has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 304.8 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Junipero Serra, though, as they've been averaging only 110.2 passing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant passing game?
Archbishop Riordan didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Junipero Serra when the teams last played back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 27-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
