League recap: McDonald throws longest pass in league this season for South Windsor

Ryan McDonald and Jessie Lavoie provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Manchester. The connection was good for 71 yards, the longest such play in Central Connecticut I East this season.

The Indians moved up to 49 from 78 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Manchester was able to make the jump by beating South Windsor 38-7.

The Bobcats' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. McDonald threw for 85 and one touchdown and Lavoie had 80 yards receiving. On the ground Eric Barrett chipped in 45 yards. Grant Pierce helped South Windsor's passing attack out by catching one ball for five yards.

Thanks to the talents of Jake Hedberg and Eric Ryan Newington has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Hedberg leads the league in passing with 113 yards, while Ryan has rushed for 51 yards this season. South Windsor's Lavoie leads the league in receiving yards with 80 on two catches.

Marco Pizzoferrato's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,866 from 7,866. The improvement came about via a 38-7 victory over Mike Bullock's team last week.
