Basketball Recap: Detroit Cristo Rey Takes a Loss

Detroit Cristo Rey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. The matchup between them and the Hamtramck Cosmos didn't end well, with the Detroit Cristo Rey WOLVES falling 45-28. While losing is never fun, the WOLVES can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 753rd, while the Cosmos are ranked 165th).

Detroit Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Hamtramck, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-17.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Detroit Cristo Rey will host Osborn at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Osborn knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Detroit Cristo Rey likes a good challenge. As for Hamtramck, they will challenge Crestwood at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th.
