Softball Game Preview: Splendora Wildcats vs. Dayton Broncos

Splendora hasn't had much luck against Dayton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Broncos at 6:30 p.m. Splendora's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Dayton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Splendora took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over West Fork. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Gators: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Dayton's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Porter on Tuesday.

Jess Woods was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

Dayton's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Splendora, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
