Basketball Recap: Strasburg Continues Road Dominance on Friday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clarke County, Strasburg was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took down the Madison County Mountaineers 61-46. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, Madison County saw an underclassman step up: freshman Gracie Woodward dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Woodward a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Ayana Green, who posted six points along with eight boards and three steals.

Strasburg pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points per game. As for Madison County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-14.

Strasburg will have a chance to go back-to-back against Madison County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
