Basketball Recap: Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls vs. Mooresville Blue Devils
The Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Mooresville on the road to the tune of 57-24. The score was close at the half, but Hickory Ridge pulled away in the second half with 40 points.
Hickory Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sheree Gidney led the charge by scoring 16 points along with two blocks. It was the first time this season that Gidney posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Amya Leathers, who scored 11 points along with five assists.
Hickory Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Mooresville, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing South Iredell the next time they take the court. Hickory Ridge will host the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Blue Devils will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
