Football Recap: Eastern View Cyclones vs. Huguenot Falcons
If Eastern View was feeling good off their 45-12 takedown of Culpeper County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eastern View Cyclones were beaten by the Huguenot Falcons 53-13 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Cyclones can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Falcons are ranked 22nd).
A big part of the win came down to the chemistry between Linwood Johnson and his top target Iveon Lewis. Johnson threw for 202 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes while Lewis picked up 175 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Lewis' receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 107 receiving yards dating back to last season.
Eastern View's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Eastern View will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brooke Point at 7:00 p.m. on September 20th. As for Huguenot, they will square off against Clover Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
