Basketball Game Preview: Skyline Raiders vs. Waxahachie Indians

The Skyline Raiders will take on the Waxahachie Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Skyline was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to Mesquite. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Waxahachie played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Cedar Hill, falling 65-39. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Longhorns are ranked 23rd).

Waxahachie dropped their record down to 10-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Skyline, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.

Skyline couldn't quite finish off Waxahachie when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 58-56. Can Skyline avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
