Basketball Game Preview: Cedaredge Bruins vs. North Fork Miners

Cedaredge is 8-2 against North Fork since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Cedaredge Bruins will square off against the North Fork Miners at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cedaredge has 15 straight wins, North Fork has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Cedaredge is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Gunnison: they outscored them in every quarter. Cedaredge enjoyed a cozy 50-33 victory over Gunnison on Saturday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cedaredge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carley Malinowski, who went 6 for 15 en route to 17 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Malinowski a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Brooks, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 12 points and six boards.

Cedaredge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, North Fork had to suffer through a 73-46 loss at the hands of Roaring Fork.

Cedaredge pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.1 points per game. As for North Fork, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Everything came up roses for Cedaredge against North Fork in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the squad secured a 46-16 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cedaredge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
