Volleyball Game Preview: Conifer Lobos vs. Standley Lake Gators

Conifer is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Standley Lake is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lobos will host the Gators at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Conifer will be strutting in after a win while Standley Lake will be coming in after a defeat.

Conifer's tournament run continued when they took on Doral Academy Red Rock on Saturday. The Lobos were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Dragons.

Meanwhile, after a string of ten wins, Standley Lake's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Green Mountain by a score of 3-2.

Standley Lake took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 15-25, 22-25, 25-23, 16-14.

Despite the loss, Standley Lake saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sophia Lambrecht-Gardner had 15 assists and 13 digs. Those 13 digs set a new season-high mark for Lambrecht-Gardner.

Conifer's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Standley Lake, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 17-3.
