Maury had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Norcom on Wednesday. The Commodores were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Greyhounds. Considering Maury have won three contests by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the third in a row for Maury, bringing their record up to 5-3. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Norcom, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Maury has already played their next game, a 7-0 loss against Hickory on the 10th. As for Norcom, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hampton at 5:30 p.m. on the 24th.
