Soccer Game Preview: Alleghany vs. Floyd County

The Alleghany Cougars will square off against the Floyd County Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Alleghany will be strutting in after a win while Floyd County will be coming in after a loss.

Alleghany took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Patrick County a 4-0 shutout. Considering Alleghany's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Floyd County fell victim to Radford and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to the Bobcats. Floyd County haven't had much luck with Radford recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Floyd County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-2. As for Alleghany, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Alleghany skirted past Floyd County 1-0 in their previous matchup back in April. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buffaloes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
