Basketball Recap: Blackford Takes a Loss

Blackford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost to the Hamilton Heights Huskies at home by a 48-29 margin. The Bruins were down 41-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hamilton Heights to victory, but perhaps none more so than Katie Brown, who went 8 of 19 on her way to 19 points and five steals. Brown has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abi Hilfiker, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Blackford's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Hamilton Heights, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-10 record this season.

Blackford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-29 defeat against Monroe Central on the 23rd. As for Hamilton Heights, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 52-19 loss against Union County on the 27th.
