Volleyball Recap: Soldotna Comes Up Short on the Road Against Chugiak

Soldotna kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Chugiak Mustangs by a score of 1-0. The Stars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Soldotna was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by exactly three points. The match finished with set scores of 25-22.

Chugiak pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Soldotna will challenge Nikiski at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chugiak, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lathrop at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
