Softball Preview: St. Margaret's Scotties vs. Christchurch School Seahorses

The St. Margaret's Scotties will be playing in front of their home fans against the Christchurch School Seahorses at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

St. Margaret's was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 19-1 walloping at the hands of Collegiate.

St. Margaret's saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rachel Verhey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, while Christchurch School put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Norfolk Christian. Everything went Christchurch School's way against Norfolk Christian as Christchurch School made off with a 10-0 victory. With that win, Christchurch School brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Bridget Wiseman made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Wiseman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and a double.

In other batting news, Christchurch School got a big performance out of Avery Thomas, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Teresa Espiritu was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

St. Margaret's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Christchurch School, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
