Livonia gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Perry Yellowjackets a 4-0 shutout. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 12-4 victory the Yellowjackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

The result came thanks to Ava Cook's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Livonia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gwen Strom, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Madi Beach was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. As for Perry, they will head out to face off against Le Roy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
