Baseball Recap: Model Patriots vs. Powell County Pirates
Model extended their losing streak to 12 on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-23. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Powell County Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, with their most recent loss being a 11-0 defeat last Monday.
Model saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Huddleston, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.
As for Powell County, they pushed their record up to 14-13 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games.
On Powell County's side, Lacy Dicken spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. As for Powell County, they will face off against Estill County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
