Monsignor Pace managed to keep up with Dade Christian until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Spartans came up short against the Warriors, falling 73-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Spartans have suffered since November 23, 2024.

Monsignor Pace might have lost, but man, Andres Lopez was a machine: he shot 50% from the field to rack up 22 points and three steals. Lopez is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Teagan Jordan, who posted six points.
Meanwhile, Marathon earned a 59-52 win over David Posnack Jewish Day on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dolphins.
Marathon's win came from a few key players Monsignor Pace will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jack Chapman, who went 6-for-10 en route to 16 points. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 47.9% field goal percentage. Taylor Huff was another key player, putting up ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Marathon now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Monsignor Pace, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Monsignor Pace has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Marathon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Monsignor Pace took their victory against Marathon in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 67-42 score. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Dolphins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
