Baseball Recap: West Windsor-Plainsboro South Takes a Loss

West Windsor-Plainsboro South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Princeton Tigers. The Pirates were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Bennett Siegel was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because West Windsor-Plainsboro South is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-4 otherwise. Siegel was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jonah Kasof made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Thor Bernheisel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

West Windsor-Plainsboro South's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Princeton, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Windsor-Plainsboro South will venture away from home to challenge Nottingham at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Princeton, they will head out to take on Allentown at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
