Basketball Recap: Foothill Comes Up Short

Foothill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits, falling 73-37.

Long Beach Poly was led to victory by Joy Anderson and Helena Vu. Anderson dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Vu went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points in addition to six assists and three steals. The dominant performance gave Vu a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ana Villamar, who posted ten points along with five boards and three steals.

Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Long Beach Poly, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Foothill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-16 loss against Paramount on the 28th. As for Long Beach Poly, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-40 victory against Victory Christian Academy on the 28th.
