Football Recap: Rio Linda Piles Up the Points Against El Camino

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rio Linda). They breezed past the El Camino Eagles to the tune of 40-0 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

One reason for the win was Rio Linda's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Saniyah Johnson. Faith Fountain got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Rio Linda now has a winning record of 5-4. As for El Camino, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Rio Linda didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 20-7 victory against Destiny Christian Academy on the 17th. As for El Camino, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 27-0 win against Woodland on the 17th.
