Basketball Game Preview: Jones Trojans vs. Poth Pirates

The Jones Trojans will take on the Poth Pirates at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Jones is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest victory since November 21, 2024 on Friday. They put the hurt on George West with a sharp 62-36 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Poth, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Hays by a score of 69-59 on Tuesday.

Jones has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Poth, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Jones beat Poth 45-35 when the teams last played back in December of 2017. Does Jones have another victory up their sleeve, or will Poth turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
