Canton extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Shamira Morton. The Canton Tigers walked away with a 46-34 victory over the Holmes County Central Jaguars on Tuesday thanks in part to Morton, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Canton's points.

Another player making a difference was Amya Hunter, who posted four points in addition to five boards and three blocks. Those three blocks gave her a new career-high.

Canton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Holmes County Central, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

The future could be bright for both Canton and Holmes County Central: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Canton will try to hand Gentry their fourth-straight loss when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
