Basketball Recap: Peoria Comes Up Short

Peoria lost against Deer Valley back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Peoria Panthers came up short against the Deer Valley Skyhawks, falling 70-49. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Skyhawks are ranked 23rd).

Peoria's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Deer Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Peoria will be playing at home against Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Westview's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. As for Deer Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge Agua Fria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Deer Valley is facing Agua Fria at the right time seeing as Agua Fria is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
