Recap: Higley Knights vs. Notre Dame Prep Saints
The Higley Knights pushed their score all the way to 56 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 88-56 loss at the hands of Notre Dame Prep. While losing is never fun, Higley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Notre Dame Prep is ranked first).
When it comes to explaining why Higley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gavin Dabney. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points. The contest was Dabney's third in a row with at least ten points. Brayden Hatcher was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Higley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Notre Dame Prep, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.
Higley's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Desert Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Notre Dame Prep will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Casa Grande at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th.
