Soccer Game Preview: St. James vs. Carolina Forest

The St. James Sharks will venture away from home to face off against the Carolina Forest Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. James will be strutting in after a victory while Carolina Forest will be coming in after a loss.

While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was St. James who was credited with the win on Tuesday. St. James got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Myrtle Beach's two. The victory continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Seahawks: they've now won five in a row.

Carolina Forest is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Socastee on Tuesday. Carolina Forest fell just short of Socastee by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by just one goal.

Kassi Javetski wasn't going to let Socastee walk away unscathed as she scored both of Carolina Forest's goals, bringing her season total up to nine goals.

The win got St. James back to even at 5-5. As for Carolina Forest, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-8.

St. James was able to grind out a solid victory over Carolina Forest in their previous matchup back in February, winning 2-0. Will St. James repeat their success, or does Carolina Forest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
