Basketball Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

Monticello lost against Watson Chapel back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Monticello Billies had to suffer through a 63-25 loss at the hands of the Watson Chapel Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Billies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Wildcats are ranked 52nd).

Monticello has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Watson Chapel, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monticello will welcome Star City at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Star City will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Monticello surely won't give up without a fight. As for Watson Chapel, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats face off against the Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
