Baseball Game Preview: Preble Shawnee Arrows vs. Tri-County North Panthers

The Preble Shawnee Arrows will square off against the Tri-County North Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Preble Shawnee has given up an average of 12.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Preble Shawnee came up short against Carlisle on Saturday, falling 15-3. The Arrows have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tri-County North, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They never let Southeastern Local get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Friday. Considering the Panthers have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ryland Alfred got the start for Tri-County North and what a start it was: he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Tri-County North let Peyton Fannin and Carter Mathews run wild. Fannin went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Mathews went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Baughman, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Preble Shawnee's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Tri-County North, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

Preble Shawnee might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Tri-County North in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Arrows avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
