While Imperial's win against Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Spartans 4-2. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Madeleine Magdelano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hailey Lepe, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Addison Clark was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Imperial's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Central, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-14.

Looking ahead, Imperial will challenge Holtville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central, they are taking a road trip to challenge Palo Verde Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Yellow Jackets at the right time seeing as the Yellow Jackets are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
