Harlandale came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They didn't even let the Lanier Voks on the board, marking their second-straight 15-0 shutout. While the Indians didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Jocelyn Arizpe was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Harlandale got a massive performance out of Nikole Mejia, who went a perfect3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. What's more, Mejia also posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Julia Casarez was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Harlandale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .704. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Harlandale pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs over those games. As for Lanier, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Coming up, Harlandale will be taking part in a tournament against Johnson at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lanier, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Knippa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
