Softball Recap: Eagle Pass' Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Eagle Pass ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Clemens Buffaloes. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Roccia Moreno made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other pitching news, Eagle Pass got a great performance from Sofia Torres as she pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits.

Back at the plate, Michelle Torralba was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Krysta Ruiz, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Eagle Pass pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Clemens, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Eagle Pass beat the Buffaloes by a score of 5-2 on Friday.
