Appleton North had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Red Raiders as they made off with an 8-2 victory. The Lightning might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Appleton North's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, they dropped their record down to 6-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Appleton North will head out to challenge Fox Valley Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Fox's pitching crew has only allowed 0.5 runs per game this season, so the Lightning's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, they will host Stevens Point at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 13.2 runs per game this season.
