Softball Recap: Chambers Comes Up Short

Chambers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Ashbrook Greenwave, falling 23-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Greenwave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-6 back in March.

Chambers' loss dropped their record down to 3-10-1. As for Ashbrook, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chambers will head out to challenge Mallard Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mavericks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.4 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ashbrook, they will venture away from home to face off against Kings Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
